Japan is the new album from Japanese sophisti-pop legend Shiina Ringo. The
album will feature eleven songs originally written by the prolific song writer
for other artists in a new arrangement as ‘covered’ by the artist herself.
After a period of relative inactivity following the break-up
of Tokyo Jihen and a raft of fifteenth anniversary releases during 2013, this
year has seen the release of the irresistible video for the Tanaka Yasutaka (CAPSULE)
produced collaboration Netsuai Hakkakuchu and the news of a new, at the time of
writing unknown, single for June. The track listing for the upcoming album features songs written for PUFFY, Chiaki
Kuriyama, SMAP and more.
