New Sounds // Monte Pittman – A Dark Horse

The name Monte Pittman may sound familiar –and it should do. Unless you’ve been a fan of his solo work then you’ll know Monte Pittman as the guitarist often seen backing Madonna. The release of his new solo album ‘The Power of Three’ on Metal Blade records makes it a titular (and appropriate) third release for the artist.

The preview track, A Dark Horse, featured on the album, showcases a sound much different to that which he plays on stage with M. With guitar riffs that comes from behind a compelling intro of delicate prog-rock styled sound etchings there is much to enjoy on this metal tinged song.
