New Music // Marianne Faithfull – Sparrows Will Sing

After a quiet spell on the music front Marianne Faithfull has announced a new album new later this year entitled Give My Love To London. The first single from said album is Sparrows Will Song, written by Roger Waters, just one of the many collaborators who played a part in the creation of the album.

Sparrows Will Sing features her distinctive gravelly voice, still unsettling twenty albums in and features a rock imbued sound that brings the song a direct quality yet keeps the listener on the lookout for the hook in the way that the best music does. This is not instant, quick fix music by any means but it is food for thought for the listener who enjoys their music uncompromising and never less than interesting.
