Once upon a time, there was a clear kettle that made waves with viewers of a certain television show. Reader, we bought that kettle! And since then we’ve paid closer attention to the opacity of domestic objects. This memory came back to us when we saw the rather beautifully composed video for Sweet Baboo’s recently released single ‘You Got Me Time Keeping’.

With a vintage sound, reminiscent of the brass imbued pop of past decades the single is a lushly composed listen and as we see distorted figures through domestic implements and a beautifully done flash of colour mid way through we see just how effective single tone imagery can be when matched with the right music.
