The Happiness Saleman:
Although barely fifteen minutes in
length this film ably shows that it doesn’t take too much effort to show
darkness in pitch daylight. The moment we Christopher Eccleston as The Salesman,
out with his briefcase and subtly creepy demeanor we now this is not an
ordinary watch.
Everything points to an unhappy end as
his cryptic talk of being ‘just a saleman, with a boss to please’ as he tries
to sell the perfect future at a price his potential customer ‘can easily afford’.
With a conclusion not afraid to end on
an either way grim note, possibly involving the free gift of a steak knife, The
Happiness Salesman is a subtle but solid watch.
