Preview // Liverpool Artist’s Festival at the Old Seamen’s Orphanage, Newsham Park , Liverpool.
The weekend of November 8th
will see the doors of the former Seaman’s Orphanage in Liverpool’s Newsham Park
open for a not to be missed weekend of art from Merseyside artists.
The infamous building,
most famous for being previously an orphanage and later a hospital is a hidden
gem on the Heritage trail in Merseyside and proved this when it attracted a record
8,000 visitors during an open day in 2013. Visitors coming down for the
festival will be able to enjoy a large collection of art from a long list of
artists from the Merseyside area with the opportunity to buy work as well.
Of course, there will also
be the opportunity to enjoy the classical architecture of the venue itself. Add
to that a selection of workshops, music and other activities and it will be a
perfect day out for all the family. A
percentage of all sales from the day will go towards the upkeep and restoration
of the beautiful venue.
Artists already confirmed
for the show include Angie McEvilly, Anna Di Scala, Paul J Gallagher, Jennie
Wishart, Anna Louise Middleton, Peter Appleton, Jazamin Sinclair, Love ArtUK,
Bernie Howden, Chrissie Howden and many more to be confirmed.
